What will I see?
Walking with Peak Adventures is a great way to get closer to nature as we explore the beautiful mountains and coastline of the UK. You could see red kite, buzzards and Peregrine falcons in the mountains or grey seals, dolphins or Kestrels on the coast! Obviously we cannot guarantee a sighting as these are wild animals, but we can certainly guarantee a great day out. On each guided walk, we’ll show you the highlights of each area, whether that’s castles, waterfalls, mountain summits or viewpoints. If there is something you particularly want to see or visit, please let us know.

For cooler days, bring a warm hat and gloves
You’ll need a packed lunch as well as snacks and plenty to drink

How far is it?
With Peak Adventures, you can choose a walk to suit your own requirements. Each walk is categorised by distance, ascent and difficulty. Please see each advertised individual walk for more details, or contact us to have a chat.
Do I need to be fit?
You need to be able to walk for the duration of the day you’re booking onto moderate/challenging walks. Some Peak Adventures walks involve steep hills and rough footpaths and tracks, so a reasonable level of fitness is required. However, we also offer more gentle introductory walks too. So, check out the walk descriptions and if you’re in any doubt, please contact us.
Are children allowed on your walks?
Walking with your children is great fun and it’s extremely rewarding for them. So, we welcome youngsters aged 7 and upwards on our Family Walks. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. For families, the best option may be to book onto one of our Family fun days – or perhaps consider booking a bespoke adventure by contacting us for more details.
Can I bring my dog?
Please check the details of the walk you’re booking to check if it is dog friendly or not. On many of our walks, well-behaved dogs are welcome. However, to respect other walkers and the countryside code, we ask you to please keep your dog on a lead at all times. The decision to allow dogs on a guided walk is entirely at the discretion of Peak Adventures. Not all walks are suitable for dogs as they can disturb some of the wildlife in the area.
Is it safe?
Getting outdoors always comes with some level of risk, but walking with Peak Adventures is generally a very safe activity, especially in the company of a qualified guide. Your guide will be a qualified Mountain Leader, which means he/she will be qualified to guide others on walks anywhere the UK, and have full Rescue Emergency Care first aid qualifications. There are Risk Assessments and Emergency Procedures in place for our walks and activities, and emergency equipment is carried on all walks. So, you can be reassured that safety is a priority for us. Before joining Peak Adventures for an experience day, you must provide details of any medical conditions and complete a consent to activity form when making a confirmed booking – see booking and terms and conditions – so that we can ensure that your day is tailored appropriately to your needs.
How do I get there?
Depending on where you’re staying or where you’re coming from for your Peak Adventures experience, we can help with directions to get you to the start of your adventure day.
Will there be toilets available?
Our walks are generally in remote areas, which means that toilets are not normally available. Suitable places along the route will be pointed out by your guide should you need one, but if public toilets are available during the walk, you’ll be informed.
